Community Job & Resource Fair on May 15, 2009The Community Job & Resource Fair provides an opportunity for employers and service providers in the community to promote their employment opportunities and services. Last year, more than 400 people from the community attended the event, visiting the booths of 54 employers and resources.
Everyone is invited to attend the Community Job & Resource Fair. In addition to the employers and resources listed below, we will offer individual resume critique sessions with corporate human resources professionals.
At 1:30 and 3:00 PM there will be a workshop on "How to Get a Job in Today’s Environment". Scott H. Silverman, Executive Director of Second Chance; Mark Cafferty, President of San Diego Workforce Partnershp; and Phil Blair, CEO of Manpower will offer practical tips, tricks and strategies to help you land a job despite the current economic downturn.
At 2:15 PM there will be a workshop 5 Tips to Finding a Job You Love, presented by Marcy Morrison, author of FINDING YOUR PASSION: The Easy Guide to Your Dream Career and owner of Careers with Wings. This workshop will help you find not just any job but a job that you will really enjoy. Marcy will address the need for a short-term and long-term plan and provide the top 5 tips as you can see are practical tools to finding a job that you love.
